Winston’s Legacy SS14

There are a handful of shots in the Winston’s Legacy SS14 campaign that are truly outstanding. The dedication to the ongoing handcrafted neck wear legacy is impressive to say the least. The gents got up at 3.30am, headed to the beach, swam out to their rock ledge in the dark (with their stools, in their blazers) and then waited over an hour for the sun to come up in the freezing cold to get the shot. Amazing.

We touched base with Dave for a few words about the new collection.

Our new collection is predominantly made from Italian Linen and cottons – even our lining that we use is now Linen. In regards to our lineup – there is nothing worse than a small bar offering 50 different cocktails on its menu, we find it more attractive when there is half a dozen really strong options. We wanted to replicate this with our range so we have kept our collection minimal and tidy, offering a piece for every occasion.

We are also working closely with a small leather factory in Spain at the moment to produce handcrafted wallets. We pride ourselves in not mass producing our pieces so there will only be 50 available at first as a ‘small batch’ run – most of which have already been snapped up from stockists. We are really excited as we grow our range and look forward to bigger and better pieces down the track. Ralph Lauren built his empire from a tie range so there is certainly some big plans in the pipe.
