I’ve got to admit we’re slightly less organised for Christmas this year but nevertheless I thought I’d throw together a small TVG christmas gift guide with some products I’ve been fond of over the last 6 months and some others I wouldn’t mind receiving.
1. Saphir Essential Kit – $60
Saphir is the undisputed king of shoe care and this inexpensive kit from A Fine Pair of Shoes delivers the essential items for you to polish and protect your shoes.
2. Nikka Whisky From The Barrel – $67.90
There’s a few reasons to love this Japanese whisky, it’s an attractive price for its quality, it comes in a funky bottle perfect for gifting and it tastes brilliant. The blend of malt and grain whiskies makes for a rich but smooth dram which lingers on the palette for an eternity!
Whether your hosting a dinner party or recovering from one the morning after, cold sparkling water is absolutely essential. Designed by renowned European product designer Yves Béhar the Play Drinks Maker is the newest product in the SodaStream range and comes with a starter gas bottle and bottle so you can quench your thirst instantly.
4. ULTRACEUTICALS FACIAL at Face of Man Sydney – $120
If your skin is important to you (and it should be) the Ultraceuticals Facial at Face Of Man in Sydney is something you should definitely do. Usually facials aren’t the sort of thing you’d buy for yourself and thus make excellent gifts, especially if they are coming from a woman. Not only are facials more relaxing than massages, the education you get about your own skin and the products you should be using is invaluable.
5. OBLYK Sunglasses – From $159
Lately Tom and I and some friends in Melbourne including Christian Kimber have been sporting new sunglasses from OBLYK, a brand I helped create. We wanted to create Italian made sunglasses without the ‘Italian made’ price tag. The sunglasses are entirely handcrafted in Italy and come in a range of polished and matte options (many of which have already been snapped up) in Tortoise shell, Green and Yellow with a transparent model on the way. The brand officially launches in 2015 but the first run of products are available now from our makeshift website. You can follow us on Instagram @oblyksunglasses
6. Page Three Sixty Essential Oil Burner – $189.95
Whether you suffer from horrible hayfever like myself or need a little help concentrating, energising or relaxing, essential oils are great addition to the bedroom, bathroom or office. This particular oil burner from Page Three Sixty is as practical as it is awesome drawing on the days of high school chemistry. Harness your inner Walter White and get your essential oil operation in order.
7. Ascot Chang for The Armoury Polo Shirt – $200
Personally I think a polo shirt (short or long sleeve) is a vital part of any wardrobe. Able to dress up your swim shorts or jeans in a heartbeat and can complete a trouser or chino smart casual look with ease. The Armoury’s Short Sleeve Polo Shirt made by Ascot Chang features a wide spread collar and a 2 button placket made from a medium weight 100% cotton pique. As you may have seen its become quite a staple for The Armoury team both under a jacket and by itself.
8. QLOCKTWO TOUCH – $645
We depend on our mobile phones even more than we realise. Staying connected, banking, watching, listening, photographing and even waking up to start our day. I’m a bit of a watch and clock nut and any product that helps me avoid a phone or computer screen has got my nod of approval. The QLOCKTWO TOUCH table alarm clock is constructed from a single aluminium block and delivers the time in words (an interchangeable letter matrix in different colours and languages) via LED lighting.

9. Tempest Forged Carbon Watch – $1070
I wrote about this watch at the beginning of the month and I still want it. In fact I’d be very happy if someone handed me a card for Christmas saying ‘On its way!’
You can read my in depth article in the link above but a Forged Carbon case for around $1000 is awesome.
