Tony Montana Confirmed for Scarface Remake

How do you feel about the remake of Scarface that was announced earlier this year? I personally wasn’t that keen on the idea and I’m not sure where I stand now, even with the dominant casting choice.

Universal Studios has announced that Mr Leonardo DiCaprio will be playing the infamous Cuban drug lord in the film scheduled for Summer 2016. The contemporary remake will be set in LA and will transplant the story to the present-day and will explore “ an immigrant’s rise in the criminal underworld”. Chilean Pablo Larrain will direct the film and Marty Bregman, who produced the 1983 version, is rumoured to be taking part also. We hear that Pacino also approves, “It’s part of what we do. We remake things,” he says.
