The Royal Enfield Bullet was first introduced in Britain in 1949 as a 350cc bike where it excelled with its strong single cylinder engine and innovative suspension. In 1950 the 500cc model was introduced and had even greater success on the track earning international recognition. Subsequently, orders from all over the world flooded into the factory and after a number of colossal orders from the Indian government in 1954, 55 and 56 the company decided to relocate and set up its factory in India.
It would seem fitting that India based, Rajputana Custom Motorcycles chose the 500cc Bullet as a base for a custom build for Bollywood star John Abraham. Vijay Singh (not the Fijian golfer), Rajputana Customs Co-Owner said: “The bike we have built for John is an extension of his personality and taste. For instance, the bike is subtle, simplistic, and a complete stand-out much like John’s calm and uncomplicated demeanor but amazing presence”.
It looks fantastic, maintaining the classic Enfield lines and adding elements of cafe racer style with the low slung handlebars and bobber aggression (the Facebook fan page has photos with different handlebars, much lower racer style – obviously these look good also). All the copper details were hand engraved and they look sensational, such a unique touch. Timeless and understated – the perfect combination.
