I’ve just finished watching the video for the new Range Rover SVAutobiography and I’m absolutely hooked. Introduced this week at the New York Motor Show the flagship Range Rover comes out of Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) unit featuring a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 that can produce 547 hp, an engine that was developed specifically for the SVAutobiography. Range Rover claiming it as “the most luxurious and powerful series-production Range Rover in the model’s successful 45-year history.”
As you can see from the video above the SVAutobiography is nothing short of incredible, especially if you’re a passenger. The interior is sumptuous to say the least. Rear-seat passengers can relax in luxurious recliners while making use of the powered deployable tables and monitors. There’s a chiller compartment on hand for drinks, solid aluminium coat hooks for your jacket and deep twist pile mohair carpet mats to rest your feet on.
By far the most unique feature of the SVAutobiography is the Event Seating’, hand crafted from ‘beautiful Windsor leather’ – an impressively arrogant way to watch your child play sport. Stowed in the luggage compartment, the seats can be quickly and easily deployed to provide comfortable seating for two adults on the tailgate lower with a aluminium frame providing support for the seat backs.
The SVAutobiography will start in the USA at $199,495 so you can rest assured it’s going to cost something outrageous if/when it comes to Australia.
