Porsche has announced a new subscription service launching in Atlanta in November which will give the customer access to a range of vehicles depending on a monthly fee. Porsche Passport will start from US$2000 and will give users app-driven access to various models on a flexible service.
The $2,000 a month Porsche Passport membership will give customers the opportunity to experience the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman S, and six other Porsche models while the premium $3,000 ‘Accelerate’ plan gives users access to 22 different models the including the 911 Carrera S and Panamera 4S.
Both Porsche Passport packages covers vehicle tax and registration, unlimited mileage, insurance, maintenance, and detailing. There is a $500 activation fee at first and a credit check, but Apple iOS and Android users can then download the app and schedule same-day or future vehicle exchanges through the Porsche Passport app.
The “white glove service” is being rolled out in metro Atlanta first and is made possible through Clutch Technologies, LLC, which is part of the company’s Strategy 2025 that wants to cater to, “customers’ desire to experience our sports cars,” Porsche Cars North America president and CEO Klaus Zellmer said in a news release.
Porsche Passport is initially launching as a trial with the roll out to other regions dependant on the success and feedback in Atlanta. Australia’s redundant Luxury Car Tax will undoubtedly deter expansion to our shores.
