Petite Marmotte

Winter is heavily upon us and my mind is fixated on getting to the slopes for some on piste action. Being ‘cosy’ is what the snow is all about – open fires, schnapps, beanies and maybe even some romancing. Well yesterday while posting some images on tumblr I found a stunning photo of a cabin in Courchevel that screamed ‘cosy’ and got on the hunt to find some more information about it.

For me, this is about as idealistic as a snow holiday gets and being that time of year I thought I’d get everyone in the mood. Petite Marmotte is an intimate, self-contained chalet situated in the exclusive Belvedere area located between Courchevel 1650 and 1850 – ski in ski out (of course), with all the original trimmings you want and all the modern appointments you need. The building is a former Mazot, a small cottage built as an addition to large family homes to house groceries, meats and hay in case of a fire. As you can see it has been meticulously renovated for a luxurious couples getaway. It’s not quite Thredbo, but it is perfect for the Versatile Gent.
