Melbourne rather than Sydney has scored debut Australian presences from both Panerai and IWC, each opening boutiques at the recently developed 360 Collins Street site.
The two stores command a prominent position on Melbourne’s most famous street, enticing foot traffic with contemporary displays and luxurious interiors.
The Florentine watchmaker has joined forces with the Kennedy family for their 75th boutique, employing the skills of architect/designer, Patricia Urquiola.
Building upon the grand legacy of Panerai, the 60 square metre space showcases an air of modern sophistication with elements of bronze, wood, and special corrugated glass complimenting striking brass light fittings, with the iconic Panerai watch dial taking pride of place.
No more than a few steps away, IWC has continued with their handsome monochrome colour-ways, rich woods and elegant interiors, with an eye-catching chandelier bathing the store’s display cabinets in light.
It’s great to see both brands recognising the importance of the Australian market and the choice now offered on Collins St, be sure to drop in next time you’re in town.
