It appears Mercedes are trying to reach every conceivable niche possible with their latest announcement (not that we’re arguing). Following the launch of the turbocharged four-cylinder CLA 45 AMG, which we drove, and loved, the company has unveiled a baby C63 AMG – the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic Coupe.
Earlier this week Mercedes-Benz revealed full specs of the new two-door family member of the modern C-class family. Designed to widen the appeal of the AMG range, the AMG C43 4Matic Coupe drives all four wheels rather than just the rears (a tempting feature for those considering Audi Quattro) with a rear bias of 69%. Under the hood, the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe boasts a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing an attractive 270kW of power via a 9G-Tronic gearbox, which will get the car to 100km/h in 4.7secs. Interestingly the quoted 0-100 times is only three-tenths slower than the previous generation C63 AMG coupe.
Expect to see the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic Coupe in Australia towards the end of 2016 with a starting price just north of $100k.
