Maserati will add the breathtaking 430 bhp/316 kW Levante S to its Australian range in the second half of 2017, further boosting sales of Maserati’s first ever SUV which has been responsible for Maserati sales climbing by nearly 50% so far this year.
Powered by a Ferrari-made Twin Turbo V6 engine (first seen in Quattroporte and Ghibli), the Maserati Levante S covers the benchmark dash to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, compared to a 6.9 second time and has a top speed of 264km/h.
The Levante’s advanced chassis and active suspension with five ride heights as standard enables the Levante S to offer both the Maserati driving experience on the road and a remarkable level of ability off-road. Along with the new 316 kW engine, the Levante S gains more powerful brakes and larger 19inch wheels fitted with wider, low profile rear tyres to ensure that the Levante S maintains the classic rear bias handing expected of a true sports car, even one which is also a versatile five-seat SUV. The Maranello made engine’s exhaust system is controlled by pneumatic valves to maintain the rich aural signature of the brand. In the default driving mode, the bypass valves are closed for a comfortable and discreet engine sound.
Pricing and full specifications for the new Maserati Levante S, which will be 2018 model year vehicle, will be announced when sales start in the second half of 2017.
