Magnus Walker. A serious Porsche guy.

If you love Porsche there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Magnus Walker. If you haven’t then there’s a good chance you’re going to enjoy this article. Magnus Walker is a devoted Porsche customiser and all round fanatic. Walker acquired his first Porsche in 1992 at the age of 25, a dream he’d had since he was 10 years old. Almost 20 years later he’s acquired over forty 911s, funded by numerous businesses he owns, and has made a serious name for himself in the Porsche community.

Walker is well on the way to his dream of owning every 911 from the 64-73 period with cars from all years except 73 in his personal collection. After years of traveling from track day to track day racing Porsches he decided to focus his finances on purchasing 911s for restoration and set out to create his own reinterpretations of his favorite car. In recent years he has gained worldwide recognition for his “sports purpose” everyday track cars that are both functional and beautiful. Earlier this year his 1972 Porsche 911 STR II, which was featured on Jay Leno’s garage, Fifth Gear and Speedhunters sold at the Gooding’s Pebble Beach auction for double its $150,000 estimate.

Below is the video that got me interested in Magnus Walker called Urban Outlaw. It’s shot beautifully and captures Walker’s deep passion for the badge, so well that it made me a little upset that I don’t share the same passion for anything in my life. The film is definitely worth a view when you’ve got a spare half hour and will have you searching for 911s on Carsales the moment it’s over.

URBAN OUTLAW, directed by  is a portrait of Magnus Walker, the rebel Porsche customizer who turned a hobby into an obsession, and an obsession into a successful business. From a workshop in downtown Los Angeles, Magnus obsessively harvests fragments from donor 911s, grafting them onto vintage frames to create one-off automobiles with the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche but an ethos entirely his own.

Head to Magnus Walker’s site to procrastinate for the remainder of the day and stay tuned for his new film Desert Outlaw! http://www.magnuswalker911.com/
