Leicester City – 19 BMW i8s! 19!
Following their historic English Premier League win last season, Leicester City players were thanked by their chairman with a new BMW i8 each, presented at the King Power Stadium.
The club’s chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Founder, and CEO of King Power Duty Free is reportedly worth £2 billion and is said to have forked out almost £2 million to buy the 19 BMW i8s (roughly £100k a piece). The cars are on top of a £6.5 million pot that will be split between the squad under the terms of Leicester’s bonus agreement with the Barclay’s Premier League.
Interestingly four players from the winning squad didn’t receive cars. It is thought that Joe Dodoo, Andrej Kramaric, Yohan Benalouane who only briefly appeared as subs and N’Golo Kante who has since moved to Chelsea are the four players to miss out.
Well deserved chaps! Leicester City take on Hull this Saturday night at 9.30pm to kick off the 2016-17 season on Optus.
