After much rumour and speculation it has been confirmed that the Swedish fashion powerhouse H&M will be opening it’s debut store in Melbourne. Some reports suggest it might be open by the end of the year, but we have our money on an early 2014 opening. With the success of Zara and Topman in both Sydney and Melbourne it’s no surprise to see H&M follow trend and set up shop in Australia.
Hans Andersson, Country Manager for H&M Australia has said, “It will be one of H&M’s largest stores globally. We look forward to bringing fashion and quality at the best price to the Australian customers.” We look forward to it as well Hans, hopefully the low-price point translates in the Australian market. Measuring 5,0000 square metres and running over three floors it will definitely make a statement, let’s hope that Australia receives the same treatment as the European and US stores in terms of stock and time of releases. We’ll keep you updated on it’s progress in the coming months.
