Frankfurt Motorshow has delivered an onslaught of fantastic new sports car releases in 2017 and I’m pleased to inform that the Off-Road category was also represented with some serious heat from Land Rover with the Discovery SVX.
Conceptualised by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Ops team and powered by the savage 5.0-litre supercharged V8 (found in the Jaguar F-Type), the Discovery SVX combines exhilarating straight line performance with untouched off road capabilities.
With a tasty 368kW and 625Nm of torque to play with the Discovery SVX will sit on 20-inch wheels with all terrain tires and debuts a hydraulic active roll control system, which simultaneously increases wheel articulation and reduces body roll, improving the handling capability of the standard Disco that Bob drove earlier this month.
Land Rover claims the SVX will be their most extreme vehicle to date and the inclusion of an incorporated rear winch certainly suggests it’s not just a car for picking the kids up from Saturday sport.
The Discovery SVX is due in Australia in August of 2018 and prices are yet to be confirmed.
