Tiffany & Co.
If you are unfamiliar with Tiffany’s, and aren’t too sure on this idea, you have to give credit where credit is due. Tiffany’s was founded in 1837 in New York City. They now operate their billion dollar business in over 22 countries. Still not sold? Well their jewellery certainly looks good on Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman and who could forget Audrey Hepburn?
This pendant necklace was inspired by Venice’s grand hanging lanterns, with a particular spiral pattern. It is made from sterling silver, and comes on a 16” chain. At $270 this should fit the budget of most men.
Tiffany Signature Pearl Earrings
Pearls and Diamonds… What more could a lady ask for? These magnificent 18 carat white gold earrings with Akoya cultured pearls and round diamonds make a fantastic gift. A set of these will set you back $1,200.
Not a fan of Tiffany & Co.? Well definitely have a look at what Bvlgari has to offer. Bvlgari was established in 1884 in Rome. They strive for quality and excellence, producing jewellery with distinctive style. Bvlgari is also worth a look if you are after jewellery incorporating incredible colours and stones.
B.Zero1 Gold Ring
This 4 band 18 karat gold ring is part of the B.Zero1 collection, epitomising true Bvlgari style. It is wonderfully elegant, and shows a bit of character compared to a one banded ring, not that there is anything wrong with simplicity. Also available in pink gold, you can purchase this ring for $1800.
Similar to Tiffany and Bvlgari, Cartier was founded in 1847 in Paris. They are known as the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers, with good reason, having provided for many royal families in countries such as Spain, Portugal and Russia. King Edward VII of England ordered 27 tiaras from Cartier in 1904. Don’t even get me started on the celebrities…
Cartier has released several bracelets under their Love collection, aimed at symbolising love and commitment – a product from 1970s New York. Featured below is the 18 karat pink gold chain bracelet, however they have other styles and variations with prices to match. They are also now available as necklaces, rings or earrings if bracelets aren’t your lady’s style. This one’s available for $1800.
Now if jewellery really isn’t what you are after, that’s okay! How about a beautiful timepiece to match the lady’s beautiful wrist? Longines are a Swiss luxury watch maker, operating since 1832 and one of the most recognisable watch brands in the world. They boast tradition, elegance and performance, even providing timers used for the first modern day Olympics in 1896.
La Grande Classique de Longines
Logines have numerous watches as part of this collection. They all have an ultra-slim profile, embodying the tradition and aesthetics of original Logines watches. This particular model is self-winding, made from stainless steel with a sapphire crystal face and transparent back. Its elegance stems from its simplicity, combining steel components with a matt white dial, black hands and roman numerals and you can find in for around $1500 (around $1000 online).
This is an incredibly limited selection, so if none of these items take your fancy take a look at the rest of their websites. If you still can’t find an excellent gift, then be honest with yourself – you aren’t really looking for jewellery or a watch are you?
