Earlier this month Bremont announced its positioning as the Official Timing Partner for both the 35th America’s Cup and for the title defender ORACLE TEAM USA. It’s the first time a British manufacturer has held the official timing partner honours since the race began in 1851. To mark such a momentous occasion Bremont have unveiled a new collection of watches to honour the America’s Cup itself, as well as defending champions Team Oracle USA.
The initial Bremont America’s Cup Collection series consists of two Special Edition watches – Bremont AC1 and ACII. Inspired by the legendry J-Class yachts of the 1930s America’s Cups, both powerful versions carry the ‘London’ mark on the dial and are built in the United Kingdom according to strict Bremont quality codes.
The more rugged Oracle watches are designed to be used on and in water, inspired by Bremont’s Supermarine line that is used by divers and military around the world. The Oracle 1 features team branding on the dial will the Oracle II features a handy second timezone.
According to Bremont Co-founder Giles English, these two collections are the initial timepieces in a series that will be added to, and rolled out between now and the 35th America’s Cup, which takes place in 2017. I am overjoyed with the results of this collection, and smitten with the Oracle II, it is the quintessential GMT tool watch, simple, practical, handsome. I need one! Prices are set to land at around $5000 for the steel models. Brilliant!
