The Story

The Versatile Gent was established in 2012 after Founder James Want was asked to leave his day job for focusing on ‘non-work related projects during working hours’. The concept was born of a desire to create original content for brands and deliver them to a niche men’s audience interested in consumer goods, motors, entertainment and travel.

After working together on a previous men’s interest website, James and Co-Founder Tom Hosking turned their attention to the men’s lifestyle market and produced articles across a range of categories and launched in June of 2012 partnering with M.J. Bale, Zanerobe and IWC watches.

Since 2012, The Versatile Gent has partnered with countless brands including American Express, AudiJohnnie Walker, Lion Nathan, Range Rover, Seiko, Stella Artois, Westfield and more.

The Concept

The Versatile Gent is a men’s lifestyle and travel source facilitating a bespoke view on current trends in men’s style, motors, horology, travel and culture. Constrained not to fashion alone, the Versatile Gent endeavours to expose the many facets of an aspirational man’s world.

An underlying ambition of the website is to help mould young gentlemen of today into well rounded, confident and aspirational people. TVG presents unique male-focused content from which readers can draw inspiration, gain knowledge and develop opinions.

Our goal is to create an active community of dedicated readers who use TVG not only as a reference point for their personal style, motoring and travel aspirations but also trust our views, reviews and opinions.
