On our recent trip overseas we spent countless hours waiting at airports, pottering around the many Duty Free stores looking for ways to spend our money. One particular item that caught our eye (and nose) was the new male fragrance from Bottega Veneta.
Bottega Veneta has come a long way from the small leather goods company it used to be. In 2001 Tom Ford appointed a new Creative Director, Mr Tomas Maier the man behind the brand’s successful move into menswear. For Bottega Veneta’s first men’s fragrance Maier teamed up with scent makers Daniela Andrier (Gucci Envy) and Antoine Maisondieu (Armani Code) to capture the “journey of a man leaving the Veneto region towards the North, to the Dolomites.”
Consequently you’ll find a fragrance that is infused with notes of Siberian pine, Balkan juniper and Canadian fir mixed with a touch of bergamot, pepper and leather. It’s a captivating scent without being too powerful. Whilst inspired by the outdoors, it’s a refined perfume and would suit any number of occasions.
If you’re a man who likes to create some intrigue than this is a fragrance for you.
