2012 Art of War Shiraz at Vinomofo

Every so often I see a business venture I’d like to be a part of. Vinomofo is certainly one of those occasions.

“If you like good wine, you might like the ‘Fo. Every day, a small selection of handpicked wines and wine-like things are available to our members at very Mofo prices. Are the deals any good? Hell yes. Why? We’re big wine geeks, but poor. We like good wine, and we like a good deal. Figure you might feel the same. And we like to have a bit of fun – it’s wine, after all, not banking. So that’s what you get at the ‘Fo – good wine, good deals, and a bit of fun.”

One particular bottle that caught my attention was Vinomofo’s own collaboration with the highly regarded Kym Teusner, the same man behind one of my ‘go to’ drops, The Riebke Shiraz. Teusner, Gourmet Traveller’s Young Winemaker of the Year in 2007, has manufactured a stellar reputation for producing bold, fruit forward Barossa reds.

Harnessing the best fruit from secret sites in the Valley, Kym has handcrafted a buxom Shiraz that’s dripping in dense black forest fruits, fresh plums and chocolate with a warming, spicy persistence. You will struggle to find a better Shiraz with this wine’s provenance, prestige and power for $15.

We’ve teamed up with the crew at Vinomofo to give one TVG reader a half case of the 2012 Art of War Shiraz. You can check out the competition on our Facebook page! In the meantime check out the epic deals going on at Vinomofo.
