The Universal Genève is one of the most versatile and elegant chronographs around. This vintage 1940s yellow gold Universal Genève Uni-Compax is a fantastic example of a timeless watch, manufactured in the 1940s and still beautiful today. An appealing manual winding caliber 285 movement and two tone dial featuring Arabic numerals are housed in an 18k yellow gold case. Two registers track constant seconds and a 45-minute register. The overall size is perfect on the wrist measuring 34.5mm in diameter and just 12mm in thickness. A Brown crocodile strap isn’t always appealing; however, it suits the gold on this timepiece. This particular watch, reference 12245 is in great shape and has an unmarked crown, also having the chronograph function is working smoothly. Recently the watch sold for $6,500 USD on Hodinkee.
