CTS: 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS
There’s something about this shape Ferrari I can’t quite let go. It seems that every year I get older I like this shape more and more, just like the 288GTO, and the 308GTS/GTO Pininfarina hit the nail on the head, it was a great period for design at Ferrari. I’ve always been consumed by this fabulous icon and love its superb retro styling that still doesn’t seem to be out of place on the road today. Whether you’ve seen one on the road or you remember it from Beverly Hills Cop II, its a Ferrari people always love. I know I’ve said it before but I think it’s hard for men to pull off the convertible, maybe that’s why I’d always longed for a targa. Tom Selleck looked cool in a Ferrari targa top, maybe I could too – I’d certainly be prepared to give it a go.
Ferrari unveiled the successor to the popular 308 in 1985 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the form of the all-new 328 GTB and GTS. A modified body and larger engine saw what was to become amongst enthusiasts the ‘Most reliable Ferrari ever made”. Available in Coupé (GTB) or Targa (GTS) the 328 was the final Ferrari developed with a naturally aspirated V8 engine.
The Ferrari 328 Gran Turismo Spider, with its 3.2 litre V8 engine is capable of 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds with a top speed of 163 mph or 263 km/h. Very reliable and beautiful to look at, we are now offering an exceptional Rosso Corsa example in superb original condition.
Delivered new in Victoria in 1988 it has a full Ferrari service history and in fact has just been serviced by Ferrari of Sydney including replacing the cam belts as required. The car is in fantastic condition with faultless paint work and the desirable colour combination of Rosso Corsa Red with cream leather interior. This is probably one of the finest examples of this very popular model available today. It drives superb and sounds fantastic with an easily removable targa roof allowing the outdoors in for an even more exhilarating driving experience.
With an unmistakable sound and shape this is a superb example of an iconic model from the world’s most famous sports car manufacturer.
